A person’s ability to succeed in any given business is directly linked to his knowledge and understanding of that business; that knowledge and understanding has to come from education related to that field. Forex trading is certainly no exception. Forex trading education is not optional.

Please consider the following absurdity. Trading currencies involves only 2 possibilities, ‘buy’ or ‘sell’, apparently a fifty -fifty likelihood of being right or wrong. Well, why do about 95% of currency traders end up losing?

I can say that when it comes to trading Forex, it is really quite simple. A Forex trader either posses the knowledge required to succeed and the discipline to follow through or, he or she must go home broke and come back another day. The important part here in my opinion, is the knowledge that one either has or does not have.

How does a trader get to know what he or she is doing?

Great information regarding Forex could be obtained from any of the following:

- Currency trading books. Countless books have been written about trading and investing. Go to Amazon, I’m sure that you will see books on all relative topics. Your Forex trading education can be complete just by reading and it won’t cost that much either.

- Information on the web. This information is offered for free on many sites that are dedicated to Forex and trading in general. You can find a lot of quality information if you take the time to search for it.

- Currency trading courses. The internet is full of just about any course about this subject that is imaginable. There are many good ones and unfortunately a lot of junk as well. Some courses only include an entry and exit technique and some are more inclusive, personally, I prefer the latter.

- Forex mentoring. Clearly, a personal 1 on 1 approach is the clearest and fastest way to learn how to trade currencies effectively. Of course not all Forex coaches are the same and not all Forex coaching programs are the same either.

You can obtain quality Forex education in numerous ways, they’re all good. If you choose, you can obtain it all by yourself and relatively low-priced. Any approach that you decide on is much better than simply beginning to trade without any Forex trading education at all!

When I started with my Forex career, I was under the assumption that more is better. Even though this might be true sometimes, in my case, the more that I studied the more puzzled that I became. I studied everything; I bought dvd’s, ebooks, strategies that I picked up online, you name it. I wrongly thought that I must learn it all.

After some time of learning furiously and experimenting with a live account (not recommended), I began to show some profit. With all honesty, it was peanuts. The bigger problem however, was that I was not always profitable, some months I was actually losing.

Concerns filled my mind; I wasn’t able to point out what was the problem. I didn’t know what needs to be improved.

Although I had plenty of Forex education, my efforts were not effective. It was still necessary for me to structure my knowledge in a functional manner.

It took me time, lots of time, but I finally understood that trading currencies is not all about entering and exiting the market. It is a full and complete approach. I understood that it is more about the trader than the trading system. I understood that goals must be made and an exact plan of action has to be drawn.

Only when I finally understood that trading Forex is a complete business proposition and after I started to treat my business as such, I truly became consistently profitable and successful.

Acquiring Forex trading education is absolutely necessary if one wants to get solid results. In my opinion, it is not possible to succeed any other way.
