Cutting off the billionaires
This was written by guest blogger Jeff Onlow
You have certain advantages when it comes to watching baseball on direct tv. When you are a fan of the Boston Red Sox like I am, in a way you have no choice since Fenway Park is constantly sold out. Even when you take that into consideration, you don’t realize just how much you can see with the game on TV featuring all the technological advances that you can imagine. Instead of sitting up in the bleachers of your favorite ballpark, you will have a better view watching the game at home. You will also save yourself a lot of money.
There’s something I really enjoy about denying millionaires and billionaires my hard-earned money. Yes, some of them own their own networks that telecast their team’s games, but not all of them do. Even for the ones that don’t, if I were to attend a game with a friend in their ballpark, between parking, tickets and food, I would end up spending $80-100 on one single game. In times like these, unless I am guaranteed to see a no-hitter or a perfect game, that money now goes toward other things on my list. I apologize to all of the richest entrepreneurs that I have inconvenienced by that money I choose not to spend.
I just don’t know how they’re going to make it without me!
