The best links you get will have relevance to the market and niche you’re targeting. the less relevant links are the less quality they have. they still count for something but they just don’t measure up as well as relevant links obviously

Getting quality links that are within context are the creme of the back-link world. Do your best to get contextual links from highly optimized websites that have a lot of relevant content. Links to your site surrounded by that kind of content is prime real estate.

Difficulty

As links get more difficult to get they also get more valuable (of course within reason). You’ll need to make a fairly large investment in either relationships, content or with money to get these links. Just remember that the most difficult links are always the most valuable so seek out the hard ones.

Of course we all like getting links that don’t require any human contact:), but more often than not the most valuable back-links come from the sources that have an actual human being in charge of the website. There is always a human being responsible for creating and making link deals with others.

Trust is the most valuable possession in the world. People will sacrifice everything for those people and organizations they trust. To get a link from a very trustworthy site will imbue you and your website with an unending supply of trustworthiness that will get your readers and customers to stick around for a long time.

Authority

Along with credible links are those links that come from sites with massive amounts of authority within their chosen marketplace. If a majority of that market uses them as a source of information and support for their sites then you know you’ve got a superb link.

Investment

The best links require that you invest something to get them. Investing will mean either giving up some actual cash, schmoozing with the right people or maybe even a sacrifice of pride and begging… Investment could mean putting in a lot more effort than normal to creating linkable top-notch content. Always be prepared to invest some of yourself into getting great links.
